Social Entrepreneur: Fernando Nilo | Global 3000

Innovative, fair - and ideally, profitable: that's the sort of business that our 'Social Entrepreneurs' are interested in. They're creative and they have a conscience, and increasingly, they're stepping in to help out where the State fails. In Chile, we meet a businessman who's managed to convince the public that recycling makes sense.Fernando Nilo founded the company 'Recycla' without any state subsidies - it's the first electronic scrap recycling business in Latin America. His employees are people who find it hard to get jobs - whether because they're old or they lack qualifications. 'Recycla' provides them with in-house training.
