Man in shop bomb threat

A man has threatened to blow himself up inside a shop in London's Regent Street.

Police arrested him following a four-hour stand-off with armed officers.

The siege brought a large part of the shopping district to be cordoned off.

Teams of police were scrambled to an Accessorize store at 12.20am after an emergency call.

The man had barricaded himself inside, threatening to harm himself.

A cordon was immediately set up around the female fashion shop, which is close to Oxford Circus underground station, while police negotiators attempted to resolve the situation.

The man finally left the commercial property just after 5am before being searched and arrested.
