Heavy fog has caused disruptions to flight schedules across India since the weekend. Flights have been delayed in cities like Mumbai, leaving passengers waiting for hours. According to the meteorological department, the foggy weather is expected to continue for days to come.

Fog disrupted air traffic in India's Mumbai City on Tuesday.

Heavy fog and low visibility conditions have led to cancellation and diversion of flights in northern India over the weekend.

This is affecting the flight schedule in other cities like Mumbai.

Passengers complain they were not informed of flight delays in advance.

[Chirag Wadekar, Passenger, Mumbai Airport]:
"Our flight was delayed because of the weather in Delhi. At least they should try to call the passengers and get touch with them and inform them, so they don't have to travel three hours from away the airport to try and get there and sit there for five hours."

The arrival of flights were delayed in Cochin and Ahmedabad by two to four hours.

New Delhi received its first shower of the winter monsoon on Tuesday, which might result in even more flight delays.

The Meteorological Department has warned there are colder days ahead with foggy conditions.
