A suspected British paedophile who went on the run for 12 years has been arrested in Thailand.
Charles Taylor, 66, was originally arrested in Leicestershire, UK, in 1998 after police raided his home and found video footage of child sex abuse and tens of thousands of pornographic images of children on his computer.
He was charged with 35 counts of child molestation and dissemination of child pornography, but fled to Thailand during the investigation and has been on the run since then.
In 2001, following a request from the British authorities, a Thai court issued a warrant for his arrest and extradition.
He was finally captured this week in Nakhon Ratchasima, northeastern Thailand, police said.
Police suspect Taylor continued to abuse children in Thailand. After they raided his apartment, police said they found a laptop with pornographic images, DVDs of child pornography and numerous explicit photos of Thai children.
Taylor, who is being held in a detention centre, will now face extradition procedures.
