    One of the biggest honors in the world of gourmet gastronomy is a Michelin star. But the yearly award highlights creativity and ambition, not financial success. And in order to maintain top-notch quality in their restaurants, even the best chefs in the world have to rely on major investments.Now, some top chefs around Europe are starting to give back their hard-earned Michelin stars. For many, cooking in a 5-star restaurant doesn't bring in a comparable salary. A high-end restaurant is only half as profitable as a regular one. Kolja Kleeberg is the owner and chef of VAU, a Michelin-star restaurant in Berlin. The money for his business ends up coming out of his own pockets.
