X Factor winner Matt Cardle performed Britney Spears' Baby One More Time and The Moody Blues' Nights in White Satin for thousands of fans in London.
Fans queued for hours to see the star with one mother saying: "It's the most amazing day I've had ever and I've met a few people." Her daughter added: "it was worth queuing for eleven hours."
The gig brought crowds to a standstill as the 27 year old sang his debut single When We Collide.
Despite performing three covers of songs, Cardle added that he would like to write his own material in future.
Speaking about Simon Cowell's plans he added: "I think Simon's actually going to let me have a hand in writing the album. He's up for it from what I've heard, but that's not a definite, there's no guarantees."
