Serbia Prosecutor Holds Details on Alleged Organ Trafficking

Serbia's chief prosecutor for war crimes, Vladimir Vukcevic, says his office has further details about the suspected trafficking of human organs in Kosovo and northern Albania. The information is not included in the European report presented by Dick Marty.
Serbian authorities are investigating the suspected trafficking of human organs in Kosovo and northern Albania.
Serbian war crimes prosecutor, Vladimir Vukcevic, said in a press conference on Thursday that the investigation is moving much further than the report submitted to the Council of Europe.
Vukcevic says that his office knew the names of those involved, but that he did not want to make them public.
[Vladimir Vukcevic, Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor]:
"So in our investigation we have advanced much beyond what is written in Dick Marty's 'Council of Europe's rapporteur on human rights' report. We have specific names, but at the moment, I will not discuss them."
Vukcevic also says there was an attempt to co-operate between Serbian and Albanian prosecutors.

"Three years ago, we tried to work in direct contact with our colleagues from Albania; that was, as far as I can remember, n January 2008. It will be almost three years in the coming January. While in direct contact with our colleagues, prosecutors tried to work together on this case, to investigate the trade of human organs."
Vukcevic explains later that the co-operation was ended by the Albanian Minister of Justice.
Prosecutors show aerial pictures of sites they suspect are camps for Serbian prisoners in Albania.
Vukcevic was speaking after a draft European report accused Kosovo's leader of heading a mafia-style organization, involved in arms and drug trafficking.
