When Hurricane Rita was done roaring through southeast Texas and western Louisiana in September 2005, it left many residents wondering how to find shelter after the storm. David Schaper of Houston noticed there were no easy ways to hook up renters and property owners like himself, especially in smaller towns affected by Rita. Thus was born, which lists properties in large cities and small towns. Users can register for free and search for rental apartments and homes. If they sign a lease with a listed property, they get $50. Property owners can list rental units for free too, and only pay a fee if the listing results in a tenant.
