Mozart / Franco Gulli: Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major

    David Hertzberg

    by David Hertzberg

In this recording which, I believe, dates to the early 1960s, Franco Gulli (1926-2001) performs the third movement of Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major, K. 218. I created this music video from the LP shown above, issued in 1975 on the Musical Heritage Society label, serial number MHS 3050.

    Movement 3: Rondo

So that there is no question in the mind of the listener, I rely principally on images of the LP label (1:59) and LP jacket (4:24; photo of Gulli from LP jacket cover, 2:46) in order to document the authenticity of historically important recordings such as these.

    More from Gulli:

Bach: Sonata No. 1 in G minor, BWV 1001 - Fuga (Allegro):

    "Devil's Trill" - Franco Gulli, Enrica Gulli Cavallo, 1963 - Tartini - Part 1, Movements 1, 2 -

    Paganini: Capricci, Op. 1, Nos. 13 and 20 -
