Elaborate traffic arrangements are being introduced ahead of the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. A marathon race will be conducted on the city roads on the same day.
New Delhi is preparing for a marathon race on October 14th as part of the ongoing Commonwealth Games.
Traffic police have made arrangements for the race and also the closing ceremony of the Games on Thursday.
[Satyendra Garg, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), New Delhi]:
"From midnight on the 13th of October we will start placing traffic restrictions across the city."
6,700 athletes from 71 teams representing 54 commonwealth member states are taking part in the Games.
