In June last year, the Israeli government eased the blockade it imposed on the Gaza strip in 2007. Although the move was welcomed by many who live in the impoverished enclave, not everyone was pleased: the passage of contraband goods into Gaza through a network of tunnels along the Egyptian border made rich men out of those that ran them -- many of whom have now been driven out of business.
