Australian women run in high heels for charity

More than a hundred women have taken part in a stiletto race in Sydney to raise money and awareness for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

The women ran an 80-meter track in their high heels.

A relay race followed and was won by a group of women from the Australian Institute of Sports.

"Just if you run on your toes, the heel doesn't even touch the ground so it is just like sprinting anyway," said two time winner of the race and a four-hundred meters hurdler Brittney McGlone.

The winning team who called themselves the Pinkettes pocketed prize money of 10,000 AUD (£6,000) and apparently broke the world record for the fastest relay race in stiletto heels.

They ran the 80-meters relay in one minute and four seconds.
