    End of an Era: Big Brother over

    After a decade of tears, tantrums and tribulations reality show Big Brother wrapped up its final program on Channel 4.

    Former trolley dolly Brian Dowling has been crowned the winner of Ultimate Big Brother. He became famous after winning Big Brother 2 in 2001.

    The runner-up was Nikki Grahame, who first entered the house in 2006 and quickly became famous for her tantrums.

    In third place was Chantelle Houghton who won Celebrity Big Brother in 2006 despite being the only housemate who was not actually famous.

    Former housemates from the previous shows had been competing to be named the winner of Ultimate Big Brother.

    Host Davina McCall fought back tears as she presented the final show. Dressed in black clothing she began the show leading a funeral procession followed by a sombre speech. The rest of the program had a party and celebratory atmosphere.

    Since BB launched in 2000, 267 contestants have lived in the Big Brother house during 19 series.

    A short film of Jade Goody was shown on the big screen during the final show. The former housemate became a celebrity after the third series, but last year died of cervical cancer.
