An epidemic of obesity is threatening our nation's children. Einstein was quoted as saying, "Imagination is more important than knowledge." However, when we examine traditional teaching ideologies we witness a lack of enthusiasm to promote imaginative thinking in students. When students approach problems using different perspectives they are generally dissuaded from doing so and placed back on the standard or "acceptable" path of problem resolution. This ideology is not only detrimental to students but to educators as well. Room needs to be made to allow our children and educational establishment to grow and move in new directions.
