While some are in it for the fame and fortune, Beverley Knight insists she got into the music business because she enjoys it so much.

"I do this for the love. I love music. It's not a way to make money," said the soul star, 37.

Since her debut in 1995, the British singer and songwriter has released six studio albums and has won three Mobo awards.

"Musically, it's so fulfilling and I just create the stuff I want to create and I get out there and get to be on a stage in front of thousands of people and do what I do and I absolutely love it,' she said.

Despite becoming a household name, Knight is rarely seen in the tabloids and enjoys success away from the spotlight.

"I just manage to get on with my life and I haven't gone out with a footballer or a fellow musician so that helps," she said.
