Sir Terry Pratchett is reassuring millions of Discworld fans he will never sell out to Hollywood.

The acclaimed author insists he prefers smaller-scale adaptations of his hugely popular novels because he has more input in the way they are translated onto the screen.

The film adaptation of his book Going Postal has just been released on DVD and Sir Terry is delighted: "I have to say that they've come up trumps".

Despite having a plethora of best-sellers to his name, he has made more headlines in recent times because of his battle with Alzheimer's.

However, he insists he won't let his condition overshadow his work: "Whatever gets said about me, the word 'Alzheimer's' will turn up somewhere - it's just one of those things and that doesn't really worry me.

"What does worry me... is that people just home in on it and totally forget all about the books and movies."
