More than 10,000 "human dominoes" set a new Guinness World Record in China's Inner Mongolia on Thursday. It toppled the record set a decade earlier in Singapore by several hundred.

The 10,276, mostly students, took 1 hour 20 minutes to set the new record.

"The human dominoes were a success. The new record is 10,267 people. This is a new Guinness World Record."

The ceremony kicked off with Chinese basketball star and former NBA player Mengke Bateer passing a basketball to the first domino in line.

The record attempt was part of the 11th Asia Arts Festival, where 25 Asian nations gathered to exhibit cultural activities.
