An album of previously unheard Michael Jackson songs is likely to be a hit with fans when it is released in November. But one famous MJ supporter will not be listening to it.
Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am has slammed the record, as he believes the King of Pop would not have wanted the tracks to see the light of day.
"How you gonna release Michael Jackson when Michael Jackson ain't here to bless it?" said lyricist and producer Will.
"He was a perfectionist and he wouldn't have wanted it that way," added Will, who worked with Jacko before his sudden death in June 2009.
"I don't think that should ever come out. Now that he is not part of the process, what are they doing? Why would you put a record out like that?" said the BEP chart topper.
Sony is expected to unveil the new MJ album in November. It is thought it will consist of 10 previously unreleased tracks, chosen from more than 100 songs held in his personal vaults.
"Because he was a friend of mine, I just think that's disrespectful," said Will.
"What's wrong with what he already contributed to the world?" he added.
