Ted Wallace and His Campus Boys (Ed Kirkeby Band), v. Smith Ballew – Lucky Me, Lovable You, Columbia 1929

NOTE: Ed KIRKEBY - American bandleader best known as a manager whose clients included Fats Waller. He was also a singer who headed a series of recording sessions with his band, but most of the vocals took Russell Douglas, Sammy Fain, Artie Dunn, Smith Ballew or Scrappy Lambert. Under the titles of the New York Syncopators, Ted Wallace and his Campus Boys and the Tommy Bohn Penn-Sirens Orchestra, Ed Kirkeby’s bands featured some of the top jazz-oriented studio players of the era.
