Big kid Nicolas Cage launches film in Japan

Nicolas Cage has described his latest film role as "like being a child."

The Hollywood actor has teamed up with his old friend and collaborator, prodcuer Jerry Bruckheimer for Disney's summer fantasy movie The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Speaking at the launch of the film in Tokyo Cage said: "It was a lot of fun. It was like being a child. You know when I was a little boy, I was a wizard every other day. So it just made sense to be in this movie and play a sorcerer."

The live-action fantasy is inspired by a sequence in the Disney classic Fantasia.

Bruckheimer will be hoping the film goes down well with audiences around the world. The movie opened to disappointing box office figures in the US.

"We hope it'll do very well. You know, it's a very entertaining movie, it's fun, it's a family film and lot of adventure, and excitement and romance," he said.
