Harry Potter star Tom Felton has signed a record deal.

The indie label Six String Productions have confirmed the news on Twitter:

"Tom Felton has signed and the album is very much on its way."

Word is the 23-year-old, who plays Draco Malfoy in the Potter films, can not only sing but plays the guitar and writes his own music too.

But despite a move into music, Tom is not turning his back on acting as he has just been signed up to appear in Rise Of The Apes, the prequel to Planet Of The Apes.

The movie will also star James Franco, Freida Pinto and Andy Serkis and is due for release summer 2011.
