It has been revealed that Coronation Street actor Graeme Hawley was attacked by a disgruntled fan, upset at his character's storyline.
The 36-year-old plays teacher John Stape, who had an affair with schoolgirl Rosie Webster back in 2007. He kidnapped her and held her hostage a year later.
Now it is reported the actor was held in a headlock while on a quiet night out in Manchester.
Hawley told The Mirror: "It's a constant issue, people giving their opinions on your character. It comes with the job."
The star even revealed he avoided going out during the World Cup.
