He has rapped alongside one of the biggest hip-hop stars on the planet, but J.Cole has a long list of other greats he would like to collaborate with.
"I'd love to work with Lauren Hill, Andre 3000, Kanye West, Nas, a lot of legends," said the US star, 25.
Cole first rose to fame when he became the first act signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label. He then featured on the music mogul's track, A Star Is Born, on his album Blueprint 3.
Explaining the style that helped him get noticed he said: "I've been taking the best parts from all of my favourite rappers, Jay-Z, Tupac, Nas, Kanye West, Eminem. Over the years, they've meshed and become my own. I've got so many different styles and sounds."
J. Cole is now putting the finishing touches to his debut album.
"We have an American release date of October 26 and hopefully it comes out around the same time in the UK," he said.
