    Please don't do it like this! You HAVE to use anti-short bushings on the sharp ends of the metal cable and connectors to connect the cable to the box. What Mr. Privitera has done is completely against the National Electric Code (i.e. illegal). You can't just run bare wires into a box and connect them to the lugs inside the box. Expanding foam isn't going to cut it.

    I'm sure his intentions are good, but he should probably stick to working on computers. An electrical inspector would fail this and require him to hire a licensed contractor to do it correctly, which will now require a new cable to run from the electrical panel to the timer.
