Psychic octopus lands himself in hot water
  • 14 years ago

Paul, the famous octopus oracle, could be in hot water if his latest prediction comes true.

On Tuesday Paul put his tentacles to the test again and opted for Spain to win the World Cup semi-finals against Germany.

Many Germans trusted the octopus, who - so far - has a hundred per cent record for guessing German world cup results. But fans of Joachim Loew's men now hope Paul is going to be wrong for once.

Paul should probably consider his own future a little more carefully. Ralf Teichelmann (pictured), who sells octopus dishes in the delicatessen market, already has an idea what to do with the tentacled mystic if his latest world cup prediction comes true.

"We can give him another chance but if he opts wrong, he will end up here on our table. But I think he is mistaken", Teichelmann warned.

German fans hope Paul will have another chance to show off his skills should Germany beat Spain on Wednesday. The octopus oracle would then have the chance to predict the final versus the Netherlands on Sunday.
