Big Cat Rescue is growing into a name that is recognized around the world thanks to your support. The "FUR BALL" is our annual benefit night and a chance to get dressed up and have some fun while the cats are back at the sanctuary sleeping.
(We do not take our cats out in public)
In 2007 we raised more money than ever before, and it will help us take care of our newly rescued lions and tigers and all their other feline friends at the sanctuary.
By BCR growing, we not only afford to give our cats the best care possible, but we also can support feline conservation efforts in the wild.
We were honored to have Bo Derek this year as we gave her the first Big Cat Rescue "Wildlife Guardian Angel" award for her work with the government in trying to end illegal wildlife trafficking. The U.S. is second only to China in this billion dollar global illegal wildlife trade. The agencies are seeing a trend with wildlife offenders to those who also traffic illegal weapons and drugs. BCR supports and fights for better legislation for exotic wildlife and believes that when people start to truly respect animals and the planet we live on, that we will also learn to respect ourselves and each other.
THANK YOU for those that are helping us in this mission!
*A special Big Cat THANK YOU to all those who donated so much for the Fur Ball this year. (Including the cool graphics on our van!)
