    Because he didn't have to, he was the top dog there and I'm sure could have it anyway he liked. Besides he's worked battle royals before and after this, so if he (and Valentine) want the night off after their main event title match, I don't see the problem.

    Yes, he did have a big title defense against Greg Valentine, but whether he was obligated or not, I don't see why he couldn't make an appearance in this particular match. Afterall, we've got the Martial Arts Champ, the Intercontinental Champ and the Tag-Team Champions in there as well.

    Or maybe Hogan didn't have to, he did Battle Royals, but he already had a big title defense against Greg Valentine who also didn't work the battle royal. It's not like he was obligated to do so, so I doubt very seriously that cowardice had anything to do with it.

    Antonio Inoki went for a single leg takedown on the Ace Cowboy Bob Orton. I'm not sure why. A battle royal is not the type of match you want to isolate a body part in.
