In 2000, I was in exile in Hoboken, where I took up residence at the YMCA. I would take the long walk down Washington St, where I would very often pass by a particular vagrant of unusually striking appearance, but he was obviously indigent and mentally incompetent. This was very difficult thing to see. I wrote this piece sitting in McDonalds as I observed him, while eating my bacon cheese biscuit.
