Cairo: remarriage not for Coptic divorcees

Divorce is forbidden by the Egyptian Coptic church except in proven cases of adultery, or if a spouse converts to another religion. A recent court ruling has ordered the conservative Church to change and allow its faithful to remarry. But the Patriarch vehemently refused , saying Egyptian law could not interfere with religious prerogatives.
