Stars have been paying tribute to Diff'rent Strokes actor Gary Coleman who has died after suffering a brain haemorrhage following a fall at his home in Utah.

Kim Kadashian tweeted: "My prayers go out to his family," while Jacket Jackson wrote: "I'm at a loss for words upon learning of Gary Coleman's passing. I want to remember him as the fun, playful, adorable and affectionate man he was. He has left a lasting legacy. I know he is finally at peace."

It is believed Gary's family and close friends were with him when his wife Shannon Price made the decision to switch off his life support machine.

Her brother Shawn Price has read the following statement on Shannon's behalf: "Thousands of emails have poured into the hospital. This has been so comforting to the family to know how beloved he still is. Information as to his funeral arrangements as well as information surrounding his passing will be released shortly. Thank you so much for all you guys have done and for the support and prayers you have given to us."

As an adult, Gary never recaptured the fame he has as a child and in recent years had both financial and legal problems.

However in the eighties Gary was one of the biggest stars on TV due to his role on Diff'rent Strokes and his catchphrase, 'What you talkin' 'bout Willis?'.
