Naomi Campbell, Kate Beckinsale, Mischa Barton and Gerard Butler are just some of the big stars who came out for the amFAR fundraiser in the south of France.
The event is held every year during the Cannes Film Festival and many believe it to be the hottest ticket in town.
The black-tie gala always includes an auction to help raise money for AIDS research charities and Mary J Blige, who performed at the event, said she hoped to get everyone in the donating mood:
"I just want to show the people a good time, I want to make people dance, I want to make people celebrate what life is and why we're here tonight," the singer said.
Sharon Stone is usually heavily involved with amFAR, using her powers of persuasion to help raise millions during the auction. However she was unable to make it this year due to filming commitments so Alan Cummings stood in as the host:
"I obviously want to do her proud because she's done so, I mean as bananas as she is and darling, she also raises such a lot of money, she really knows how to bludgeon with glamour" the actor said.
"So that's what I'm hoping to achieve tonight - bludgeoning with glamour."
