A British man has been arrested on suspicion of beating his girlfriend to death on the Greek holiday island of Crete.
Luke Walker, 22, will appear in a Crete court on Thursday over the murder of his British girlfriend 21-year-old Chelsea Hyndman, who died in hospital on Monday evening after suffering ruptured internal organs which doctors say was caused by physical violence.
Mr Walker has told his lawyers that he is innocent.
Mr Walker's lawyer George Koundourakis said: "Of course, my client claims to be innocent."
He said he would not comment further on the circumstances of the case.
