Cheryl Cole's brother Andrew Tweedy has reportedly been arrested by police investigating an armed robbery.

A post office in North Tyneside was raided on Monday at 4pm and the thieves allegedly waved a gun at customers before escaping with thousands of pounds.

Four men were bailed over the incident and no one was hurt.

The X Factor judge grew up on a tough council estate in Newcastle and reportedly fell out with her brother after he gave an interview to a national paper about their upbringing.

Andrew Tweedy has previously described himself as "the black sheep" of his close-knit family.

Cheryl Cole is currently on tour supporting the Black Eyed Peas.
