"I really had the feeling of seeing an exceptional and truly dazzling show...where everything was harmonious...the music...the costumes...the colors...It was truly extraordinary...even fascinating. The scenes had a lot of gentleness, and yet at the same time a lot of genuineness. Sometimes one had the impression of being inside the scene and to be living out the story being told. And I found that truly extraordinary."
Ms. Mees says she found the dance Nothing Can Block the Divine Path very moving. Set in contemporary China, it depicts the story of a family who practice Falun Dafa, a spiritual practice that the Chinese Communist Party has been suppressing for more than 10 years.

"Well, I found that scene in particular (Nothing Can Block the Divine Path) terribly authentic, very emotional. It wasn't voyeuristic...It was really showing something without being complacent...and without adding in. There were other scenes that spoke of hope, where it felt like saying: 'Listen, keep up faith, keep up hope, despite all the difficulties, you will still succeed in life.' And all this beauty that we were shown, all this gentleness, all this gracefulness, it helps us rise and fly a bit higher. And I found truly brilliant the subtle mixing of joy and sadness, of violence, of gentleness, grace and also the expression of faith..."
