On Monday, the governor of India's Maharashtra state unveiled a memorial for the victims of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and the bomb blasts in suburban trains in 2006.

The November 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai sent a chill throughout the country. Ten Pakistani gunmen attacked the commercial capital of India, killing 166 people.

Mohammad Ajmal Kasab, the only gunman who was captured alive, was given the death sentence by an Indian court last week.

In July 2006, more than 200 people were killed in a series of seven bomb blasts. The blasts occurred in several suburban trains, and injured more than 700 people.
