On Wednesday, Pakistan's Interior Minister said his government will cooperate with the United States in identifying the man arrested over the failed Times Square car bomb attack in New York.

U.S. officials arrested Faisal Shahzad, a 30-year-old Pakistani-born American late on Monday at JFK International Airport in New York.
He was removed from a plane as it was about to take off for Dubai.
The U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan met Pakistan’s foreign and interior ministers late on Tuesday night and talked about the issue.

A security official in Karachi said a friend of Shahzad and a few family members were arrested.
Malik says authorities are keeping a strict watch on people associated with Shahzad but denies the arrest reports.

Pakistan is a key ally of the United States and has arrested hundreds of al Qaeda operatives and handed over many of them to the United States.
