Jedward shake up TV ad

John and Edward Grimes are making a clean start after getting dropped by their record company. The Irish twins feature in a new advert for Shake 'N' Vac.

The X Factor duo appear alongside the ad's original star, Jenny Logan, who famously sang and danced to the catchy jingle: "Do the Shake 'N’ Vac and put the freshness back,” 30 years ago.

"We're so grateful. It's such an iconic advert and we can't believe we were chosen to be in it," said Edward.

"Jenny Logan made it famous. But we've totally made it contemporary and made a new, different sound to it," added John.

The 2010 remix features a rap from the pair.

The 18-year-olds were dropped by Sony Music in March after their debut track Under Pressure featuring Vanilla Ice, only made it to number two, then toppled out of the charts after just a week. They were snapped up by Universal soon after. But the talent show stars say it was just a minor blip in their career plan and promise bigger things are to come.

"We thought Universal was a better way to go. You have to make loads of sacrifices for what you want to do. And we want to do lots of cool TV ad commercials just like Shake 'N' Vac." said Edward.
