James Cameron has revealed he wants the sequel to Avatar to be based in the oceans of Pandora.
"Well I haven't written the script yet, so I don't want to say anything too declarative. I know I want to do something with the Pandoran ocean. Ecosystem. And create some cool characters and creatures around that. But I haven't really, I haven't really written it yet. So I'll have to get back to you on that one."
Speaking at the launch of the Blu-ray DVD of the 3D epic, Cameron disclosed his idea for an already eagerly anticipated second film, as well as good news for fans who missed it in the cinema first time round.
"So we know that people still want to have this experience in movie theatres. Because we were sold out right up until that day. People were waiting around the block. And then boom, they couldn't have it anymore.
"So, we're going to give it back to the public in August, which is a quieter time. And we're putting back six minutes of CG material that was taken out of the film. So you're gonna see a whole new Avatar. I mean six minutes is really quite significant. And it's not boring stuff.
"It's all action and things you've never seen. It's like seeing a new Avatar."
