Stranded Slovakian Couple Tie the Knot in Taiwan

A Slovakian couple married in Taiwan on Tuesday… after their flights were cancelled because of volcanic disruptions in Iceland.
Thirty-two-year-old Juraj Hegyi and his wife Zuzana Marcekova exchanged vows inside a chapel at a Taoyuan County airport hotel after their flights were delayed for four days.
Their wedding was originally scheduled to be next Saturday in Slovakia… they’d been planning on the grand affair for two whole years.
So instead of finding an alternative route home, they decided to say their vows in Taiwan.

"We were stuck in this country four days ago, and I was thinking that we would stay here for two hours, but suddenly the nature stopped our lives. And I think that it was the destiny that we are not stuck in this country, but we were sent here to be married. So, this is really amazing, thank you all for everything."
Internet cameras were set up for the couples' parents to watch the ceremony live.
Hotel staff and some curious guests attended the ceremony, with the hotel's president walking the bride down the aisle.

"They've known each other for 13 years and never had a chance to get married, now they've decided to get married but they can't. Yesterday in the morning, all the hotel staff started helping them out by finding a Christian priest, and other preparations. All the costs are spent in the most efficient way, everyone volunteered."
The hotel spent 24 hours getting the rings, wedding dress and shoes… and covered the costs.
More than 5,500 passengers in Taiwan have been affected by the flight disruptions.
