The international art exhibition "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance" showcases art by practitioners of Falun Gong—a Chinese meditation practice that is persecuted by the Chinese regime. Israeli Arabs had a chance to share their thoughts about the paintings. Our correspondents bring us this story.

The "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance" international art exhibition has been shown in many cities around the world. It was hosted in the Israeli Arab city of Tamra. On opening night, on March 13 many of the visitors were Arab artists who shared their thoughts about the exhibition.

[Fuad Abaria, Artist and Curator]:
“This is an exhibition which conveys culture and art to people who are somewhat not familiar with [this kind of] art. I think it's excellent.”

What they did not know before was Falun Gong and the brutal crackdown launched by the Chinese regime against the spiritual practice for more than ten years. All the artists of the "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance" art exhibition practice Falun Gong. Some of them were persecuted, detained, and tortured for their beliefs before they could escape from China.

[Samar Badran, Painter]:
“I saw the violence … Each painting tells a story. She waits for her parents and she's crying. They abducted her parents!”

Many of the visitors, like Maria Qadan, were shocked when they learned about a persecution that is still going on in China today.

As Maria was taking in the meaning of the paintings, she was also inspired to help.

Another visitor showed concern for people living in China.
