A Russian passenger plane crashed near Moscow's airport on Monday. Luckily everyone survived.

A Russian passenger plane crashed near Moscow's airport on Monday, but everyone on board survived.

The Aviastar jet was on approach to Domodedovo International Airport from the Red Sea coastal resort of Hurghada in Egypt.

The plane was carrying 8 crew and no passengers at the time of the crash.

Yevgeny Sekirin, Head of the Moccow Region Emergency Ministry gave an account of the injuries.

[Yevgeny Sekirin, Emergency Ministry Moscow]:
"On board there were eight people, all are alive, two are seriously injured, two are in stable condition - they are in the Central Republican Hospital - four are lightly injured and they are at the airport clinic."

According to Airport spokeswoman Yelena Galanova, the plane was cleared to fly.

"The plane has undergone a proper technical servicing, because it could safely fly to Hurghada, land there and almost reach Moscow."

There is no official word on the cause of the crash, but RIA Novosti news agency said the Tupolev TU-204 plane dropped off radar a kilometer away from the airport when it was attempting to land in heavy fog.
