TRAIN TIME | The Vision Of Europe

  • vor 14 Jahren
"Train Time - Zeit Zug" is a monumental art project by Spanish artist Manuel Saiz about a circular high speed train in mainland Europe. It will run at a constant speed of 200 km/h on a 2400 km track. "Train Time" will be the biggest clock and the largest art installation in the world.

The out of proportion and quasi absurd cyclopean quality of "Train Time" does not invalidate it. Instead, the mere possibility of proposing such a project creates a space for a discussion that is much needed.
The image video brings up many issues, which we have to deal with in our daily life, and questions our relation to Europe and its institutions: social and globalization issues, ecology, economics and art.

The video was realised in London, Berlin and Cologne with the support of: Manuel Saiz (idea), Barbara Gutierrez (production), Gregor Kuschmirz (direction), Alex Healey (camera), James Clossick (cast), Bill Nash, Hannah Jackson (speaker), Marco Rotoli (motion graphics), Mischa Ruhr (music);
