Alfie is distracted by Kat and looks envious and hurt when she tells Zoe and Kelly all about her conquests abroad. He remarks on it later, and she tells him the truth was too dull - she stayed in a cried herself to sleep. Alfie is sorry, and when Kat says it's OK, just what she needed, and it was thanks to him - she gives him a hug and thanks him for his concern. Alfie enjoys it rather too much, and when she walks off he takes a deep breath to compose himself. Nan is watching him and notes his reaction. Alfie is apparently totally besotted by Kat, which seems all very sudden. Later she disappoints him hugely when she says that they shouldn't be single - they both ought to be dating - adding crushingly - there must be someone out there for us.
