If I Forget You

THE VIDEO AND AUDIO IN THIS CLIP ARE THE PROPERTY OF METRO GOLDWYN MAYER.
This is a song from the 1940 short film 'If I Forget You' from the MGM studio. It starred Kay Keyser and His Kollege of Musical Knowledge, Bette Davis and, of course, Judy Garland. It was part of the 5th annual Hollywood fund raising effort to benefit the Will Rogers Hospital at Saranac Lake, New York.
The filming took place in March or April of 1940, just prior to Judy 's 18th birthday. During this same period, up until the end of May, her full time project was Andy Hardy Meets Debutante. You may notice that there are similarities between this performance and parts of her rendition of 'Im Nobody's Baby' in that film. That's the MGM chorus you hear providing a beautiful backdrop to Judy's vocals. The title song was written by Irving Ceasar, who also penned such familiar tunes as Swanee, Tea for Two, Crazy Rhythm and Just a Gigalo. (The official title page was removed by me) Hope you enjoy it.
