Nuclear tests in the Algerian desert

Between 1960 and 1966, France carried out 17 nuclear tests here :4 of these explosions were above ground, 13 were underground explosions. Up to now, there's been no enquiry into how these nuclear tests continue to affect the local people. 50 years on the sites are still not secure, exposing those who live in the region to the dangers of radioactivity.
