Beechey Island - Nunavut, Canada

Beechey Island is located in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago of Nunavut, Canada. It is recognized as a historic site with tremendous significance, as it marks the final resting place for three members from the ill-fated Franklin Expedition of 1845. Franklin and 128 men from his expedition disappeared during their travels through an unnavigated section of the Northwest Passage. Despite the efforts of subsequent search expeditions, they were not rescued in time. Want to plan your trip to Canada? Visit http://www.canada.travel
