http://ruggachick.com/ Rugby 101 - Pick up and drive I’m having a look at the Running game and discussing the method of... pick-up-and-drive. I know how most of us feel when the ball gets kicked back and forth... We all scream RUN THE BALL!!! Simply it means that a team attacks by running forward passing the ball. The ball can be past laterally or backwards. But the Ball may never be passed forward or else it is a scrum for the other team. That is when a drive around a scrum or ruck is usually performed by the forwards and is intended to break the defensive line using their weight and force.
