Leonard Cohen - "Take This Waltz" - Tower Theatre
  • 14 years ago
At Tower Theatre, Philadelphia, 10-22-09, Leonard Cohen sings "Take This Waltz" (based on a poem by Federico García Lorca). At approx. 4:03 he engages in a delightful duet with Hattie Webb. Then he introduces his "remarkable singers and musicians-from Barcelona, the great virtuoso, Javier Mas; on all the instruments of wind, the maestro of breath, Dino Soldo; on vocals and guitar, the irreplaceable Bob Metzger; on drums, the prince of precision, Rafael Bernardo Gayol; on the keyboards and the Hammond B3, the impeccable Neil Larsen; on vocals and composition, my collaborator, the incomparable, Sharon Robinson; on vocals, Hattie and Charley Webb, the sublime Webb Sisters; on vocals and bass, the shepherd of our grand ensemble, and the conscious, our Musical Director, the esteemed Roscoe Beck." Leonard then skips off the stage! I had placed a laurel wreath for Leonard on the stage and at approx. 5:13 you can see him examining it, picking it up and placing it at the back of the stage.
