Ukraine: Voting against frustration | European Journal

On January 17,Ukraine will elect a new president for the first time since the Orange Revolution. In the winter of 2004,tens of thousands staged a peaceful protest in Kiev against election fraud. There's not a trace of this euphoria to be seen today.The one-time heroes of the revolution have fought among themselves,the country is politically and economically in crisis. Many Ukrainians are disappointed by their politicians and no longer want to bother voting at all. The Ukrainian singer Ruslana is one of the symbols of the Orange Revolution. Her disappointment doesn't keep her from continuing her political activities.
