South Korean activists send balloons into communist North Korea. The balloons contained messages against North Korea's communist regime.
Conservative activists in South Korea launched hundreds of yellow balloons containing anti-North Korea leaflets near the border on News Year’s day.

"Greeting the New Year, we are delivering our messages of freedom and hope to North Korea.”
The activists burned a North Korean national flag to denounce the communist regime and urged the North to liberate its people.
They were also there to support U.S. human rights activist Robert Park, who crossed into North Korean territory without the North's permission.
Before the crossing, Park said that he saw it as his duty as a Christian to make the journey.
He does not want the U.S. government to try to free him.
Critics of the Pyongyang regime say it is against reform, holds public executions to intimidate the masses, and prevents free speech through tight control of the media.
